Supplies

On this page you will find information about art supplies that I personally like, love, or possibly hate. Some will be traditional art supplies that you would normally buy at an art supply or hobby store. Others will be less traditional supplies that you will find in your junk drawer, back yard, dollar store, or who knows.

I love supplies that are cheap. I hate spending too much on anything especially art supplies. I am not expecting any of my art to show up in museums or art galleries. I art journal because it is fun, therapy, and relaxing. It is not important for me to spend money on artist grade supplies if student grade supplies works just as good. Why spend $25 on artist grade coloring pencils if $5 Crayola will do the job. Yes, a lot of people will probably argue this, but how many of us will really need our art to last for hundreds of years. Sure it would be fun to come back on 200 years and find our art in a museum, but to be realistic that probably wont happen for most of us. And sure if you one day want to make a career out of arting, then go ahead and buy your artist grade supplies. Until then, let's spend money on the cheap stuff and have some fun arting.

And just think about all the money you save on art supplies you can spend on your favorite snack, drink, spa weekend, or maybe donate to your favorite charity.
